A Day Out of Las Noches ♥

kechirase—los-lobos:

Starrk was unamused.

That was the third time that week that a couple of idiotic Numeros had burst through his wall in quarrel, causing rubble to fly everywhere. Thankfully, he’d been sitting on one of the couches, reading as opposed to sleeping on his pile of pillows, like the first time it had happened. That time, he didn’t get crushed under a pile of collapsing walls and concrete. He sighed, his dull eyes flaring ever so slightly in anger, as the arrancar refused to cease their fighting. A simple flare of his reiatsu was all he needed, and the two arrancar stopped instantly, eyes widening to the size of dinner plates as they realized whose room they had just destroyed.

“Get out.” The two words were the only thing that Starrk spoke to them, but they were filled with such a dangerous venom that the two hollows jolted out of the room as soon as they were able to lift a finger. He had really had it with this place; as if it wasn’t enough that he had to be surrounded by idiocy on a daily basis, but now, for some reason, they had to be bursting through his walls.

Standing up from the comfort of his couch, he threw the book aside, walking to a smaller, separate room from his own, where Lilynette liked to spend most of her time when she wasn’t with Starrk. He knew that she too was annoyed by the others, and having to have their quarters fixed every other day was getting rather troublesome. Pushing the door open, he saw her laying on the floor, reading a book as he was, trying to occupy her time and not send the other arrancar running to Aizen after she had her way with them.

“Oi, Lilynette,” he said, blue-grey eyes finding hers. “What do you say we get out of this place? I’ve about had it with the dumbasses that won’t stop destroying our home. Let’s go to the world of the living, there aren’t any idiotic arrancar there. And I have just the place in mind that you might like to go.”

Although she never was quite a big fan of books, the young arrancar found the manuscript a better company than the usual nothingness. She had not seen a certain former tercera she once played tag with, most likely because from what she heard, the other green-haired arrancar already had her brothers to play along with. And so here she was, crossing her legs as her eyes skimmed pages after pages of scientific notes she could barely comprehend when a loud bang, followed by two lowly numeros absently continuing their brawl despite the fact that they just ruined the primera’s lair, was heard. Lilynette was just about to stand up and yell at the two idiots but as soon as she saw her older half calm-yet-deadly scorn scaring them away, she shrugged and leaned back to her cushion, planning to once again drown her mind in the complicated graphs of various carbon chains. As much as the noise hit her nerve, she secretly appreciated the liveliness. It must have been fun, having someone you could have a fist fight with, she thought. Not that she didn’t appreciate Starrk “volunteering” to be her daily sand sack, but there were times when she wished she had been strong enough to have a spar or two with more of her race without the fear of being beaten to death, especially when that bossy shinigami separated them by force by sending Starrk for a mission or inviting him to his twisted tea party, requiring her to think of something to do in her loneliness.

Starrk, on the opposite, seemed to be unusually pissed off. Probably because among the two of them, he was the one who carried the lazy trait more and it was just understandable for one to be upset when their attempt to relax had to be disrupted by such unnecessary commotion. The said anger was much to her advantage, however, for it came with an offer for a trip to the world of the living. Perking up, she already forgot about her book and clapped cheerfully at the pleasantry. “Sure, why in the world do you think I’d say no? I’m up for anything, as long as it can escape me from the place’s dullness and you know that~!” she grinned. It was such an uncommon chance for him to be able to bring himself to show her the world of the living. It was even more uncommon that he said he did have somewhere in mind for the two of them to go to, and finding something new almost always interesting, Lilynette couldn’t hide her excitement.

"So, where are we heading to, Sir?"

What the fuck was going on the dash last night? All the interesting shit happens when I am asleep.

"Yeah, of course, kitty cats spend their lives mostly with sleeping anyways, I’m not surprised."

"But anyways, I know this is late, but happy birthday."

"Enjoy."

Running in panic, Lilynette grabbed Nel on her hip and turned her around so she now faced the angry mantis as she kept running backwards* “Stop crying and be more of a use! Shoot him with your cero, or puke, or whatever, do something!”

Where the hell is Starrk when I need him!!!

But apparently, Aaroniero already handled the matter for them. Nnoitra stopped, and so did her. Lilynette’s hand was covering Nel’s mouth, however, in attempt to prevent anything from escaping it and caused more chaos. She was panting. But at least for the time being, things were sorted out.

Nel tried to take Lily’s advice, a long spindle of drool dribbling out of her lips as she bounced unsteadily in the fraccion’s grip.

“It’s not working!” she wailed.

Luckily for her, though, she didn’t have to try again. Apparently Nnoitra had decided to leave them alone. Lilynette’s hand unwittingly covered her mouth, and Nel glanced up curiously at her reaction.

Lilynette was still too focus on catching her breath when she felt some warm, sticky fluid dripping through her finger straight down to both the back of her hand and palm and her mind started to register.

“Ewww…!!!” she wiggled her hand in attempt to get rid of Nel’s drool. “Ughhh…,” she really wanted to whine, or maybe even tantrum, but for now, given the fact that she was still alive when she could just lose her head anytime, at least this was nothing compared to the terror. “Just… be glad I have a soft spot for you!” she yelled and averted her gaze as she used Nel’s clothes - if that green rag could even be called clothes - to wipe her hand, hiding the blush that started to creep onto the surface of her pale cheeks.

Nel giggled at the face of disgust Lilynette made the moment she realized her hand was now covered in drool. She didn’t mind the other girl using her clothes to wipe the spittle - she had used it to clean worse before. Bawabawa drooled a lot, too. Squirming in her grasp, she turned her head so that she could smile at her new friend.

“Danks for sabing me!” she said. She’d remember not to go near the Quinto again.

Lilynette tried to smell her hand. Dammit, it surely smelled like shit now. And yet, no word spoken by her lips even though her indifferent glare did say a lot, if Nel was sensitive enough. “This would cost you one turn of taking a walk with Mr. Octopus,” Lily pouted. “Nothing in this world is free, at least you should be grateful that is all I’m asking.”

“…”

Being almost always alone she was, Lilynette honestly hated sharing someone she thought she just finally befriended with a stranger who randomly jumped in. Still, not even someone as stubborn as the younger primera could simply turned her back on the sight of the almost crying little tercera. Besides, giving Nel permission to “borrow” Aaroniero every once in a while seemed to promise another possibility to build another bond and the idea itself was, of course, better than having to stick around, enduring her whining while helping to find her weird-looking “brother”.

“Fine, you can have him too. But only when I’m not too lazy to walk on my own two feet!”

Nel’s tears ceased as soon Lilynette spoke, her brown eyes widening. Instantly the little arrancar broke into a grin, and without wasting a moment the former Tercera ran forward and latched herself onto the taller girl’s leg.

“Nel can share!” she said, excited. “Nel pwomises she’ll take good care of Awen…Awenewie..of Awen!” Squeezing the fraccion’s leg in a tiny hug, she smiled up at her.

“Dank you!”

A sigh of relief made its way out of Lily’s lung as she realized the younger arrancar looked somehow calmer. The sudden hug that followed was beyond her anticipation, however, as she almost fell on her butt from the action had she been lack of a wolf’s pretty nice quality of regaining balance.

"Aaargh, why are you such a pain!" Lilynette’s attempt to shake Nel off her leg was to no avail, the rather toothless former tercera seemed to stuck on her limb like a stamp on an envelope. Another sigh escaped her nostrils, but this time, it was more of frustration. Facepalming, the primera shook her head as she decided to let it be for the time being.

"You’re welcome."

“N-Nel wants to go on a magic carpet ride!”

“No! I won’t share Aaroniero with you! You already have your own pet for a ride!”

“B-But Nel doesn’t know where Bawabawa is!”

“Nel hasn’t been able to find her broders in hide-n-go-seek neither!”
